‘No more use of soft drinks, paracetamol, energy drinks’ – Jide Kosoko kicks against drug abuse

Nollywood actor, Prince Jide Kosoko, has released a statement condemning drug abuse after his recent appointment.

 On his Instagram page, he posted a picture of himself wearing an NDLEA outfit and declared himself the new Chairman of NDLEA, warning the public about the consequences of drug abuse.

He announced that he would be prohibiting the use of certain drugs and substances such as Karaole, Alabukun, phensic, paracetamol, cafenol, as well as energy drinks, soft drinks, man power or bitters, and others.

He emphasized that he only supports and recommends the use of water.

“Enough… Enough of this general sickness of continuos abuse of drugs. As I resume today as the new chairman of NDEAL, The following are hereby banned . No more use of Karaole, Alabukun, phensic, paracetamol, cafenol..infact all painstaking drugs, all soft drinks, energy drinks, man power or bitters, no more diabetic or high blood pressure drugs. The only drug hereby recommended and approved by me is WATER. BUT IF U LIKE YOURSELF CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR. I MAY ALLOW ONLY YOU FROM USING WHATEVER YOU WANT. CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR IF HE IS NOT ON HARD DRUG. I JUST SAY I SHOULD WARN O MUTE. @tundeolaoyedirect”.

Last year, Nigerian musician Naira Marley urged his numerous fans to avoid using drugs.

He visited the NDLEA headquarters and met with Chairman Buba Marwa, expressing his support for the fight against substance abuse and encouraging his fans to join the agency in combating drug abuse in the country.

Actress Toyin Abraham also made an appeal to Nigerians who have a habit of using drugs.

She emphasized how drugs can ruin one’s life and promised to offer assistance to those in need.

Former BBNaija contestant Alex Unusual questioned the motives behind the persistent drug abuse.

She disclosed that regardless of peer pressure, there are three things she would never engage in: dating married men, smoking, and using drugs.
