NDLEA Apprehends Prospective Pilgrims Trying To Swallow 200 Wraps Of Cocaine

On Wednesday, law enforcement officers from the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency responded to a tip by raiding a hotel, where they caught and arrested individuals in the act of using 200 wraps of cocaine, successfully disrupting a drug-related operation.

On Thursday, Femi Babafemi, who serves as the Director of Media and Advocacy for the agency, made public the revelation through his designated X platform.

In addition to that, Babafemi accompanied the disclosure with a visual presentation showcasing the illicit substances that were confiscated during the operation.

According to the report, law enforcement officials discovered 100 wraps of cocaine in each of two rooms, resulting in a total of 200 wraps seized. Additionally, two suspects attempted to ingest 100 wraps of the drug each, highlighting the brazen nature of the incident.

In the video, he pinpointed out, “Caught in the Act: They were preparing to swallow 200 wraps of cocaine ahead of their flight to the ongoing hajj in Saudi Arabia Wednesday night and #ndlea_nigeria officers stormed their hotel rooms in an intel led ops. Details shortly”

The Chairman/CEO of the NDLEA, Brig Gen Mohamed Marwa (Retd), praised the Lagos state Command for their successful operation and vowed that the agency will persist in its efforts to identify, track, and apprehend individuals attempting to conceal their criminal activities under the guise of religious pilgrimage, in order to protect the country’s reputation.

The NDLEA Chairman further mentioned that, “the Agency will work with our counterparts in Saudi Arabia to ensure that the designated recipients of seized illicit drug consignments in any part of Saudi Arabia are also traced and dealt with accordingly.”
