3 rescued, 4 dead in Lagos collapsed building 

A three story-building reportedly collapsed on Friday, at Oyesonuga Street, Isolo Road area of Mushin, Lagos, killing four persons while three others were rescued.

The Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Dr. Femi Oke-Osanyitolu, confirmed the incident late Friday evening.

Men of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, and Lagos State Rescue and Fire Service, Nigeria Police, among others, ran to the scene on rescue mission.

Oke-Osanyitolu said “Further investigation revealed that the collapsed building was an adjoining building to another 3-storey building.

“After a painstaking search, one female has been rescued from the rubble. This brings the total rescued alive from the incident scene to three.

He said, “The victim has received first aid at the scene and has been transferred to hospital. Four bodies recovered (2 male and 2 female) and they have been handed over to the State Environmental Health Monitoring Unit (SEHMU) for on ward deposit to Mortuary. Operation ongoing.”
