Nigerian Actor, Timini Egbuson decided to disable his Twitter account after facing criticism for a degrading tweet he made about girls from the University of Lagos (Unilag).
The rising movie star, who is gaining attention in the entertainment field, posted a tweet in 2011 that demeaned female students from Unilag. He claimed that women who study at the esteemed University of Lagos are easily persuaded to engage in intimate relationships with men in exchange for material possessions and a lavish lifestyle. According to his statement, these women are willing to remove their underwear at the mere mention of a boat cruise.
Possibly drawing from personal experience, his tweet that has recently resurfaced on the internet has resulted in numerous people ruthlessly criticizing him.
“Unilag babes will off pant for you immediately you mention boat cruise. It’s like magic!!”, he tweed.
The actor has removed the tweet and disabled his Twitter account afterwards.
Internet users are having mixed opinions on the matter, with some individuals defending the actor by highlighting that the tweet was made 13 years ago. However, others persist in criticizing him for degrading Unilag girls.

Previous years Big Brother Naija Star show housemate Seyi Awolowo received a significant amount of criticism after he expressed his desire for his future sons to have multiple sexual partners. The popular TV personality made this offensive remark during a conversation with his fellow housemates, White Money and Soma.
After being kicked out of the show, Seyi went on a media tour with Ebuka Uchendu and publicly apologized for his comments. He sincerely expressed remorse for his words and acknowledged that apologizing is the only action he can take at the moment.
He stated in another comment that Nigerians have collectively chosen to depict him as a bad person, causing doubts about the sincerity of his apology.
