Again, Obasanjo denies endorsing Tinubu

Former President, Olusegun Obasanjo, has again  denied endorsing the All Progressives Congress, presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, describing the news as false and fake.

In a viral message circulating on social media, he was quoted saying, “I am not a politician; I am a decorated soldier, an army general. If you are looking for thorough bred politician of masters class, visit Lagos Bourdillon, there you’ll find one.”

Reacting to the message through his Special Assistant on Media, Kehinde Akinyemi, Obasanjo declared he never made any remark at the expense of his noble military profession.

Obasanjo said, “only the military trains personnel to be good managers of men and materials. So, I cannot disparage my noble profession for politics that has no formal training. This is false and fake.”

Wakadaily earlier reported on 20th August that after Tinubu visited Obasanjo, there were claims that he welcome him as a brother and gave him his full support for the 2023 presidential election.

But reacting to that, the former president denied endorsing the former governor of Lagos State, he said, “Those claiming to be insiders at the meeting issuing statement on the discussion and those crediting to me statement I had not made are enemies of the visitor and are not doing the visit any good.

Adding that the discussion during the visit was “more brotherly than political.”
