Nollywood actress and film producer, Jaiye Kuti, better known as Jayeola Monje, has expressed her admiration for her senior colleague, Funke Akindele, for publicly endorsing her.

Funke took to her Instagram page to show her support for Jayeola by promoting her latest movie, Alagbede. The popular actress announced that she would be going to the cinema to watch the film and invited her fans to join her. Congratulating Jayeola, Funke declared that her movie was already a hit at the box office.

In the comment section, Jayeola Monje praised the box office Queen in Yoruba language, expressing admiration for her regal qualitie.

Funke expressed her admiration for her writing while leaving a comment; “Oluwaseun ma. E se ma”.

Funke Akindele is currently the most successful actress in African box office movies. Her latest film, A Tr!be Called Judah, premiered in theaters in December 2023 and broke a box office record within 21 days, becoming the first Nollywood film to earn N1bn.

This achievement surpassed the success of her previous films Battle on Buka Street and Omo Ghetto, which are the second and third highest-grossing films in the Nigerian box office.

As a result of her groundbreaking accomplishment, she was awarded a new car at an event. Last month, she received the Silverbird Lifetime Achievement Award, which she dedicated to her fans and loved ones. Recently, she announced her upcoming film, Everybody Loves Jenifa, which is set to be released in December.

However, she did not provide further details about the film, such as whether it will be in theaters or on streaming platforms.

It is likely that Everybody Loves Jenifa is related to the comedy franchise Jenifa, which includes The Return of Jenifa and the TV series Jenifa’s Diary.
