Lloyd Ekweremadu, the first son of the former Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu has been criticised for having an elaborate wedding ceremony while his parents are in the UK prison.

Recall that Lloyd got married to the love of his life, Tiffany Adaobi Obinna-Uzor, at the Basilica of Grace, Anglican Communion, Gudu District, Abuja, on Saturday.

The wedding was attended by prominent politicians, including the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi; former Ebonyi State governor, David Umahi; Benjamin Kalu, deputy speaker; Dino Melaye, a former senator; three former senate presidents — Anyim Pius Anyim, David Mark and Bukola Saraki, among others.

Lloyd wedding is coming barley 3 months after his father, Ekweremadu and his mother, Beatrice, alongside middleman doctor were convicted in the United Kingdom over organ trafficking.

Sharing a photo from the wedding, chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Joe Igbokwe, slammed him, saying he was insensitive to the plight of his parents that are in jail.

Mr Igbokwe said he was supposed to do a low-key wedding and wait till his parents returned before he can have a big one, adding that the new “generation scares him”

Feeling disappointed, Igbokwe via his Facebook page wrote: “If I were to be Ekweremmadu’s son I would not have staged this elaborate wedding ceremony with my father and mother in prison.”

“I would have done a low-key marriage ceremony and waited till my parents are free. This generation scares me stiff.”

However, a fan replied his post by saying the wedding for someone on Ekweremadu’s son level wasn’t an elaborate one, Joe Igbokwe insisted that the wedding was not supposed to hold at all.

Recall that the Enugu State governor, Peter Mbah, recently appointed Lloyd as a commissioner in the state.
