In Ikot Abasi Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, the newly constituted Progressive People’s Resolution (APC-PPR) committee of the All Progressives Congress has pledged to ensure that it overthrows the ruling People’s Democratic Party in order to solidify its position.
John Ayang, the coordinator of the group in the Ikot Abasi Federal Constituency, made this claim at a strategic meeting of the group on Saturday in the Ikot Abasi Local Government Area. He said that the PDP’s egregious underperformance in the region is giving the APC room to seize power in 2027.
Ayang praised in particular the crucial roles played in guiding the party’s operations by President Tinubu, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, National Leader of the group, and APC stalwart in the Ikot Abasi Federal Constituency, Engineer Ubong Idemudo.
He continued by saying that Idemudo’s unflinching dedication to the APC’s principles positions him as a key figure in furthering the party’s program at the federal, state, and local levels.
He said, “Engr. Idemudo’s tireless efforts and significant contributions to the APC-PPR and the broader APC family are worthy of note His dedication and strategic acumen were instrumental in advancing the group’s objectives, aligning perfectly with the progressive agenda championed by leaders like Tinubu, Akpabio, and Victor Antai.
“This group is committed to providing the necessary population to challenge and triumph against the ruling Peoples Democratic Party in Akwa Ibom State during the 2027 general elections.
“The PDP’s gross underperformance in Ikot Abasi Federal Constituency is a development that is laying credence to the soon-to-come era of positive change.”
As a result, Ayang made bold announcements about the formation of APC-PPR executive committees at the local government area, ward, and unit levels. These actions showed the party’s commitment to fortifying its base of support and organizing future electoral wins.
The group’s national convener, engineer Ubong Idemudo, gave a speech during the ceremony in which he thanked the group and urged them to continue working toward their goals.
