ASUU suspends strike after eight months

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), has suspended its eight-month strike.

The union suspension followed after it’s National Executive Committee (NEC) marathon meeting which started from Thursday night till Friday. ASUU’s NEC comprises of the chairmen of the state chapters and members of the national executive.

An official statement from the union is yet to released, a highly informed source within the NEC said, “Yes, it has been called off, adding that “the president will release an official circular in the morning.”

Wakadaily reports that ASUU has been on strike since 14 February 2022, to protest over the non-implementation of its demands by the federal government.
