ASUU UPDATE: Strike to End soon – FG Assures

The Federal Government has assured that academic activities will resume soon, the minister denied the allegation that FG was planning to create a different payment table for (ASUU).

“Recall that the public universities were shut down on February 14 by the ASUU and the other three university-based unions, the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities, SSANU, the Non-Academic Staff Union of Education and Associated Institutions, NASU, and the National Association of Academic Technologists, NAAT, joined in the strike over the inability of the government to address their concerns.

“Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, responding to questions from newsmen after the Federal Executive Council meeting (FEC) presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari at the presidential villa, Abuja, assured that efforts were ongoing to resolve the faceoff between it and ASUU and other university-based unions over payment platforms soon.”
