The Lagos State Coroner Court has revealed that the most crucial aspect of an autopsy to determine the cause of the late Mohbad’s death is being conducted in the United States of America (USA).
O. Akinde, the state counsel on Wednesday told the Coroner Magistrate, Adetayo Shotobi, that the autopsy into the external body of the deceased has been completed.
He made this disclosure following the concerns by the counsel to late Mohbad’s father, David Fadimu, that of TNKay Music Worldwide, David Nawoola, and O.S.A. Aranmolaran, representative of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Ikorodu.
The state counsel said, “The toxicology test, which has to do with the internal body, is being done in the US”.
Recall that singer Mohbad had died in a controversial way at the age of 27, September 12, 2023, and was buried the following day in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State.
Given the circumstances surrounding his death, many had called for his body to be exhumed and an autopsy carried out to determine the cause of his death and for justice to be served.
Following the outcry for justice which trailed his death, the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, ordered a forensic Investigation to unravel the cause of the death.
Also, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa based on the IGP’s directive, set up a 10-man team, including a pathologist to exhume the singer’s corpse and investigate his death.
