Bandits planning to attack Abuja-Kaduna train – DSS warns

The Department of State Services (DSS) has issued a security alert on how bandits are planning to attack the Abuja-Kaduna train anytime from now.

DSS revealed this in a leaked memo to the Nigeria Railway Corporation, NRC on Wednesday evening.

The secret service in memo titled: Security Alert: ‘Impending Threat By A Coalition Of Banditry Syndicate To Attack Abuja-Kaduna Train Service Along AKTS Corridor’,  they advised other security agents to deploy troops in the stated area, to stop this from happening.

WAKADAILY reported how the Abuja-Kaduna bound AK9 train was attacked by terrorists on March 28, 2022, abducting 168 passengers and killing eight others. The victims were released batch by batch, the last 23 were freed after 8 months (October).Therefore, the train was closed down.

The bandits had vowed to sell some of the passengers and kill some if the government refuse to adhere to their demands, the Abuja-Kaduna train finally resumed operation on December 5, 2022, after the last victims was released.

Issuing a security alert on a freah attack plots by the bandits, the DSS in a leaked memo signed by Director FCT Command, R.N. Adepemu, cautioned train passengers to be careful and security alert
