Caretaker Chairman dies few hours to swearing-in

Lawan Karasuwa, who had just been appointed as the Caretaker Management Committee Chairman of the Karasuwa Local Government Area in Yobe State, passed away less than 24 hours before being sworn in officially.

Lawan, who was supposed to have been sworn in on Friday, May 26, 2023, reportedly died at the Federal Medical Centre Nguru in Yobe State after he drove himself to the health facility on Wednesday.

Before he decamped to the All Progressives Congress (APC), Karasuwa served as a member of the Yobe State House of Assembly from 2003 to 2007. He was also a former Acting State Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
