The court has decided to delay the child custody hearing for Queen Mercy, a former participant of BBNaija, and Lord Lamba, a skit maker, regarding their daughter Kielah.
This postponement is a result of Lord Lamba’s absence in court.
The child custody case between Queen Mercy and Lord Lamba was postponed by a magistrate court in Lagos on May 23, 2024, and rescheduled for July 18, 2024.
It was reported that Lord Lamba and his legal team did not attend the hearing. A representative for Lord Lamba, who was present, expressed uncertainty regarding the reason for the absence of the skit maker.
“Today was the court hearing and Queen was there but her baby daddy didn’t show up. His lawyer didn’t come. Instead, he sent his assistant to represent him. Because he didn’t appear in court, his lawyer requested a new date, so it was adjourned to 18th of July for hearing,” said a source.
In December 2022, Queen made an announcement on Instagram about her pregnancy but did not disclose who the father was.
There were reports suggesting that Lord Lamba might be the father, but neither Queen nor Lamba confirmed this at the time.
On February 29, 2024, the same day Queen Mercy announced her engagement to David Oyekanmi, Lord Lamba confirmed that he is the father of Keilah by sharing pictures of himself with the baby girl.
He also posted a page from Keilah’s international passport, which showed that her last name was the same as his.
At the beginning of March, an online petition dated February 16, 2024, started circulating.
The petition was directed to the Family Court of Lagos State in Ikeja, and in it, Lord Lamba requested custody of their daughter, stating that he had been consistently paying child support but was denied access to Keilah.
