Chimamanda joins Obi, Baba-Ahmed at election Tribunal

Award-winning Nigerian author, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, joined the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi and his running mate, Datti Baba-Ahmed at the Presidential Election Petition Court on Tuesday.

Peter Obi and Baba-Ahmed are challenging the outcome of the February 25 election which President Tinubu was declared winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Chimamanda, who is a vocal critic of politics and policies in Nigeria, has been a strong supporter of Obi.

The Tribunal is set to resume hearing in the adoption of written address by LP and Obi.

Earlier, the election Tribunal reserved judgment on the petition filed by Atiku Abubakar, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party at 2023 polls.

Atiku is also challenging the outcome of the February 25 election asking the court to nullify president Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s victory.
