CITN releases exam results

The Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria, CITN has officially released the results of its October 2024 Diet Examination, marking a significant milestone in the institute’s evolution

The Registrar/Chief Executive of the Institute, Mrs. Afolake Oso, in a statement revealed that the governing council of the institute commended students for their dedication and hard work.

In a significant development, CITN announced a transition to computer-based examinations starting April 2025.

This move aims to enhance convenience and efficiency in the examination process. Previously, the Institute piloted computer-based tests for foundation-level students, recording remarkable success. From April 2025, this format will be extended to Professional Examinations I and II, with a newly reviewed syllabus coming into effect,” the statement read.

However, CITN expressed concern over the low turnout at its CBT sensitisation programmes, which are organised to prepare students for the new examination format.

It mentioned that these sessions, typically held on four Thursdays preceding each diet exam, offer students an opportunity to familiarise themselves with the CBT platform and participate in mock examinations.

We strongly encourage current and prospective students to take full advantage of the sensitisation programs,” the Institute stated, emphasising that these sessions were crucial for understanding the modalities of the CBT system.

According to the statement, CITN also advised students to register with accredited tuition centres, utilise recommended study materials, and attend the sensitisation programmes.

The institute stressed that these steps will better prepare candidates for the rigours of the new examination format and minimise the likelihood of being caught unprepared.

The institute reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining the high standard of its examinations and producing top-tier tax professionals in Nigeria.

The tax institute urged students to view the exams as valuable opportunities for professional growth and development, underscoring the need for consistent preparation.

The CITN is dedicated to improving the quality of its examinations to sustain the high standards of the tax profession,” the statement stated.
