Clark served Nigeria selflessly, diligently – Peter Obi mourns diplomat

The Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, on Thursday mourned a former Nigerian Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Blessing Akporade Clark, who died in Lagos on Tuesday, at the age of 92.

Obi took to his Twitter page to condole with his family, the government, people of Delta State and Nigerians in general, stating that Clark served Nigeria selflessly and diligently.

“He wrote, “The death of Ambassador Blessing Akporade Clark is a huge loss to the entire Bekederemo-Fuludu-Clark Family, the government and people of Delta State and Nigerians in general.

“A consummate career diplomat, Ambassador Clark served Nigeria selflessly and diligently. His services to the nation at different levels contributed to the shaping and seamless conduct of our foreign policy & diplomatic relations.

“On behalf of my family, I commiserate with his family & all who mourn him. May God grant him eternal rest and grant those he left behind the fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss,-PO.”
