Cook-a-thon: We’ve not confirmed Hilda Baci’s success – Guinness World Records

The Guinness Book of Records has recognized Nigerian chef Hilda Baci’s admirable work after she succeeded in breaking a world cooking record.

The platform was responding to a query by one Alexander who was asking why Baci’s success was yet to be acknowledged by the Guinness World Records after she broke the 87 hours 45 minutes record previously held by an Indian chef, Lata Tondon, on Monday 15, 2023.

@Alexander wrote; “Why is Guinness World Records not showing or talking about Hilda’s cook-a-thon? Can’t see anything on their pages (Twitter, Facebook, YouTube).”

Responding via its official Twitter pag, the Guinness Book of Records wrote, “We’re aware of this amazing record attempt, we need to review all the evidence first before officially confirming a record.”

The 27-years-old Akwa Ibom chef told reporters: “The journey to the cook-a-thon started five years ago. It is one of my biggest aspirations, and I am glad that I took the bold step to embark on this adventure. I have taken time to prepare for this psychologically, and I am proud to finally take on this challenge.”

Hilda Bassey Effiong added: “The cook-a-thon is also an opportunity to tell some of the positive stories that come from Africa through the meals that we make. This attempt is also proof of the strength young people can exhibit with the right platform and support. I look forward to receiving support from people across the world to achieve this feat”.
