A warrant for the arrest of River State Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s chief of staff, Edison Ehie, was dismissed by Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court in Abuja.
The order also had an impact on Adokiye Oyagiri, Progress Joseph, Jinjiri Bala, Happy Bennett, and Chibuike Peter.
The Chief of Staff and a few others were hauled before the court on charges of terrorist acts.
They were listed as sought by the court shortly after the charge was brought against them.
On April 25, 2024, the court issued an order, however it has since been set aside.
“This Honourable Court’s order dated January 31, 2024, for the Warrant of Arrest of the Defendants/Applicants and to have them declared wanted is made without jurisdiction and is hereby set aside,” Justice Nwite declared.
Oluwole Aladedoye, the respondent’s attorney, had urged that the court should postpone enforcing the judgment until after the request to throw aside the arrest warrant was heard and decided.
