Cubana Chief Priest, a well-known bartender named Pascal Okechukwu, has advised Nigerians to avoid any involvement with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
Cubana Chief Priest expressed that Nigerians would not appreciate the level of pressure that the EFCC subjects suspects to during their trial.
In a recent post on Instagram he said: “Court day, problem no good Oh, @officialefcc No Dey Joke Oh !!!! Better stay away from their wahala, I’m sure you will not love to pass through this Kinda stress I’m passing through.”
This follows the release of reports stating that he had reached an agreement to resolve the case outside of court.
Federal High Court in Lagos has scheduled June 5th as the date to receive a report on the settlement in the case involving Cubana Chief Priest, who is accused of misusing and damaging Nigerian currency.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had brought charges against Cubana Chief Priest on April 17th, accusing him of spraying and mishandling naira notes at a social gathering held at Eko Hotel in Lagos State.
He had denied being guilty of the accusations and was given permission to be released on bail with the amount of N10 million.
Justice Kehinde Ogundare then postponed the case until May 2, when the preliminary objection and trial would be heard.
