Dangote group denies reducing cement price 

Dangote Group, the parent company of Dangote Cement has debunked claims making around of reducing price of cement from N5,500 to N2,700.

There are speculation that the Dangote group slash the cement price by 50 per cent with effect from October 1, 2023.

Reacting to the report circulating on various social media, Bahir Ahmad, media aide to former president Muhammadu Buhari, described the news as false through his X page on Sunday.

“The Dangote Group has denied the trending reports that it has reduced the price of cement from N5,500 to N2,700 effective October 1st”, he stated.

Also, Anthony Chiejine, spokesperson for Dangote Group, denied the claim on Monday morning.

“It is fake news”, Chiejine said in a terse message sent to newsmen.

A price of 50kg bag of cement is sold between N4,600 to N6,000 in Lagos, Ogun, Ondo and Abuja.
