Drake wins $2.7m from bet on Adesanya vs Pereira fight

Following Israel Adesanya’s knockout of Alex Pereira at UFC 287 to reclaim the middleweight title, Canadian rapper Drake won $2.7 million.

According to Mirror, Adesanya won back the 185lb title just five months after he lost it to his bitter rival Pereira, who has previously beaten him twice in kickboxing.

Wakadaily reports that Drake staked CA$2,000,000 on the Nigerian-born New Zealander, Israel Adesanya, hoping to get a win of CA$2,900,000, but it didn’t go as he expected as Adesanya was knocked out few minutes to the end of the contest.

However, when Pereira was knocked out on Sunday, April 9, 2023, Adesanya assisted Drake in making up for his loss.

Stylebender’ was asked about Drake’s bet after his fight, to which he said, “Shoutout to everyone that bet on me but you have to realise that when I step into the octagon I put my life on the line.

“That’s the biggest parlay you can ever do. I’m a betting man too so shoutout to stake, we are about to make another deal and get more money.”
