In an act to foster development in the educational sector, Success Ojo, the Chief Executive Officer of Gotocourse Platform and G-Mind AI, has urged the Federal Government and stakeholders to advise teachers to embrace technology to improve the learning system.
She made this known at a press conference recently in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, adding that education had gone beyond the four walls of the classrooms, where teachers and students interact one-on-one.
She advised stakeholders, especially in the private sector, to also follow the suit.
She said, “Effective education is no longer confined to classroom walls or traditional pedagogical approaches. From the chalkboard to the smart board, from textbooks to e-books, education has witnessed drastic transformations over the years. Technology, as a dynamic enabler of education, is at the forefront of these transformations, driving the evolution of teaching and learning at a pace never before witnessed.
“This digital learning platform has removed geographic and temporally-bound constraints, making education accessible to everyone, everywhere, anytime. Packed with features like virtual classrooms, quizzes, live conference tools, forum discussions, and the ability to track progress, attendance, and whiteboard, it has redefined how knowledge is consumed and shared.”
She added, “Technology in education is more than an enabler; it is also an equaliser.”
Technology promises a future where quality education is accessible to all, irrespective of geographical limitations, socio-economic backgrounds, and learning capacities, Ojo stated.
She also stressed that the G-Mind’s features, which Gotocourse is bringing into Nigeria, could also facilitate text-to-speech and speech-to-text capabilities.
“This means that if a teacher wishes to deliver a lesson orally, G-Mind can convert that speech into written text. Conversely, written lesson plans or textbook content can be converted to speech, creating an auditory learning experience that caters to the varied learning styles of students.
“It can also convert text to slides, dramatically reducing the time and effort that educators often invest in presentation preparation. This means more time focused on enhancing the learning experience, rather than worrying about the logistics of lesson delivery,” Ojo stressed.
