ESVARBON appoints new chairman

According to the Board of Estate Surveyors and Valuers Registration Board of Nigeria, Dosu Fatokun has been appointed as the new chairman.

Fatokun disclosed this in the hand over ceremony in Abuja, and also announced his plans to initiate strategic partnerships with similar organisations in the United States and the United Kingdom, to improve standards and professionalism in Nigeria.

He said, “This administration would facilitate a smooth cordial working relationship and synergy with the other foreign institutions and organisations in estate surveying and valuation for effective cross-fertilisation of ideas through the principle of reciprocity.

My administration promises to consolidate on the achievements recorded by his predecessor and ensure that ESVARBON carries out its statutory functions and mandates as stipulated by the law. We would address all the barriers capable of impeding the supervisory role of the board.”

He explained that the board was assigned to oversee several academic institutes such as property management.

Also, the outgoing chairman expressed confidence in the leadership of Fatokun, who enthused would the estate surveyors and valuers to greater heights.

He said, “I count it a great privilege and honour by God not only to be called to serve as the 15th Chairman of ESVARBON but also to have served meritoriously these past three years. It has been three years of focused and sterling leadership with an abundance of achievements and fulfilment of statutory mandates.

The registrar and I had in the last three editions of the annual ESVARBON Newsletter articulated the achievements of the board within the pendency of my term as the chairman. The boat is now coming to anchor as my tenure came to an end yesterday, Sunday, March 17, 2024. I will, therefore, hand over the steering of the ship to a very distinguished member of the profession and past president of the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers.”

Meanwhile, Stephen Jagun, the Vice Chairman of the board, showed appreciation on behalf of the board member to the outgoing chairman for his exceptional leadership style in piloting the affairs of ESVARBON.

You allowed us to exercise our intellect to put something on the table. You came and called us together as a big family and you have this gift of watching us and ensuring that we do everything peacefully.

It is not about just being a board member but that we are happy to be board members. We are not regretting that we are working together, “Stephen added.
