Burna Boy, the acclaimed Nigerian musician, visited the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital.
Videos circulating on Twitter show the singer causing a commotion at the hospital as people eagerly tried to catch a glimpse of him and shake his hand.
It has been reported that during his visit, Burna Boy generously covered the medical bills of all the patients in the hospital.
Furthermore, he had distributed more than N10 million to students studying at the University of Port Harcourt.
In his declaration, he expressed that his purpose for visiting Port Harcourt was solely to demonstrate affection towards his community and provide financial aid to those in need, particularly for educational expenses such as school fees.
“Na only love I come show my people o, those people wey need financial assistance like school fees”.
This comes two months after he renovated a home for orphans in Port Harcourt.
The Grammy-winning singer, through the DashMe Foundation, renovated the Cheshire Orphanage Home, which provides care and support for individuals with disabilities or special needs.
This happened shortly after his rival, Davido, announced his annual donation to orphanages.
Davido stated that through his foundation, he would donate 300 million to orphanage homes, considering it his yearly contribution to the nation.
During an Instagram Live session, Burna Boy explained why he doesn’t seek attention with his charitable acts.
He said that despite people’s perception, he actively engages in charity work, mostly offline, because he believes that those in desperate need of help are not on social media.
He emphasized that he directs his giveaways to meaningful places and people who truly need them, and most of these individuals are not active on the internet.
