He came to the international limelight after he released the single, Nwa Baby (Ashawo Remix).

Flavour Early Life & Education
Flavour was born to the family of Mr and Mrs Okoli on the 23rd of November 1983. His parents named him Chinedu Okoli. His father’s name is Benjamin Okolie. He also has a brother, Okolie Chidera Emmanuel, known professionally as DJ Derekz.
He is from the Southeastern region of Nigeria and belongs to the Igbo tribe. He was born and bred in Enugu State. However, his ancestral hometown is Umunze, located in Orumba South Local Government Area of Anambra State.
Flavour underwent elementary and secondary education at a top public-owned school in Enugu State.
He is an alumnus of SoundCity Communications’ music institute, where he studied on a music scholarship. The program helped him learn music production from Dekumzy, Isi Charles, and Nnachie.
Flavour Career
Flavour began playing the drums professionally when he was still a teenager. His first job was with a local music band based in Enugu. He had also mastered how to play the piano and played both instruments for the band. After that, he received an offer to perform at City Center, Enugu.
He released his debut studio album, titled N’abania, in 2005. The project was released while he was signed to the record label Obiano Music. The album was relatively successful and did well in the Southeastern part of Nigeria compared to other regions of the country.
Flavour aspired to break into Nigeria’s mainstream music industry, so he took time out to hone his songwriting skill and refine his sound. After a five-year hiatus, he released his sophomore studio album titled Uplifted in 2010. Unlike its predecessor, Uplifted was a commercial success across Nigeria and Africa. The project is home to hit songs such as Nwa Baby (Ashawo Remix), Adamma, and Oyi Remix featuring Tiwa Savage and was released under Lolhiphop Records.
He released his fifth and sixth studio albums in 2017 and 2020, respectively. The former, Ijele, is a 17-track project, while the latter is titled Flavour Of Africa and composed of 16-track songs.
Flavour has worked with the likes of Phyno, Diamond Platnumz, Fally Ipupa, Larry Gaaga, Theresa Onuorah, Pete Edochie, Semah G. Weifur, P-Square, Umu Obiligbo, Zoro, Biggie Igba, Waga G, and many more.
