Following the downpour that left several residences in Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos State under water,  the flood left many inhabitants of Lagos neighborhoods helpless.

Tuesday morning, at approximately 6am in the morning, the rain began to fall in most parts of the city, flooding roads and bridges and making it difficult for cars  and pedestrians to access.

Communities with more impacts of the flood includes Abule-egba, Command, Alegent and Egbeda areas of Lagos.

The people who were trapped were being rescued by emergency personnel from state and federal government agencies who were on the scene.

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA)’s (Ibrahim Farinloye) territory coordinator for the South West verified the information.

However, Farinloye warned the people living in the Command Area to avoid Command and its surrounding areas when they went outside because the neighborhood bridge had been overtaken by floodwaters.

“NEMA, the fire department, and the police are working to get trapped people out of the area,” he stated.
