At a recent event in Lagos State, an ex- member of the House of Representatives, Shina Peller, on Tuesday, debunked reports of him snubbing the Minister of Power, Bayo Adelabu.
In the 9th Assembly, Shina represented Iseyin, Itesiwaju, Iwajowa and Kajola Federal Constituency, where he made this explaination in a statement, he shared on his social media platforms, on Tuesday, which was also made available to journalists in Ibadan, the state capital.
The statement was in reaction to a recent video circulating on social media purportedly showing a perceived snub of the minister by Peller.
However, he described the allegation as unfounded, sharing a video evidence of himself and the minister embracing and greeting each other warmly at the event in question.
The statement read in part, “This is to address a recent video circulating, purporting to show a perceived snub of the Minister of Power, Adelabu, by myself.
“It is important to clarify that the allegations of snubbing are unfounded. The Minister and I have a respectful relationship, and I did indeed greet him at the event in question. The dissemination of this video appears to be driven by motives that do not align with the truth. Adelabu himself knows that the allegation is unfounded because I greeted him.
“Moreover, I wish to emphasize the significance of greetings in my faith as a Muslim. Greeting others is considered an act of charity in Islam, and I make it a priority to extend greetings to individuals at every opportunity. This act of goodwill reflects my values and principles in interactions with others. It is never in my character to snub people regardless of the situation or my relationship with the person.
Peller who contested for a seat in the Senate in the 2023 elections under the platform of the All Progressives Congress, dumped the party to join the Peoples Democratic Party.
