The late Ms Abigail Edith Frederick, a Nollywood make-up artist, who tragically passed away in a boat accident last week along with popular actor Junior Pope and three others, has been buried in her hometown of Ikot Udoma, located in the Eket Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.
On Monday, the late Abigail Frederick, who had graduated from the University of Uyo (UNIUYO) with a degree in Theater Arts, was laid to rest in her family’s compound.
The governor of the state, Pastor Umo Eno, instructed that her body be dug up and brought back home for a respectful and appropriate burial.
The funeral service was conducted by the Church of Christ in Ikot Udoma, Eket local government area.
Governor Eno had visited the family on Saturday, April 13, 2024, to offer his condolences for the death of the 24-year-old make-up artist, and it was during this visit that he ordered her remains to be exhumed and returned to her hometown for a proper burial.
Eno had also made a commitment to help her two younger sisters who were studying at the university, and she gave her approval for the renovation of their deceased family’s house in Eket.
During the visit to offer condolences, Eno assured the deceased elder sister that she would be given a job in the state civil service and instructed that their house be renovated.
Additionally, he pledged to provide assistance to the siblings currently attending university and offered support to the parents as well.
It was reported that all the Governor’s Personal Assistants in charge of Entertainment, led by a person named “Utang Akwa Ibom,” were present in Asaba on Sunday when her body was dug up and subsequently brought back home for burial.
