Funke Akindele emerges Lagos State PDP deputy candidate 

Popular Nollywood actress and producer, Akindele-Bello Olufunke Ayotunde famously known as Funke Akindele or Jenifa, has emerged as the deputy candidate in Lagos state to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

Jenifa emerged as the Deputy Governorship candidate, beating five other nominees for the position.

Five names which was shortlisted are 

Mrs Funke Akindele; former governorship aspirant, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour; former Senatorial candidate for Lagos East, Yeye Shobajo, another governorship aspirant, David Kolawole Vaughan known as DAKOVA and Engr. Teslim Balogun.

Hon. Otaigbe Imadegbelo, confirmed the news on his Twitter page, he tweet read, “Funke Akindele is Lagos PDP candidate, Jandors running mate”.

Funke was seen in a viral video with the Lagos governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Olajide Adediran, that’s trending on social media,  some of her fans applauded the new political movement in Nollywood while others condemned it.

Rumours have it that, the party choose the actress so they can use her influence to win the youth’s hearts, for the fact that she hailed from Lagos, Ikorodu precisely.
