Gas explosion injures 20 people, burn shops in Kano 

Another gas explosion has rocked Kano State, at a Liquefied Petroleum Gas refilling shop, and burnt down buildings to ashes while 20 people were injured.  Earlier last month it was recalled that on May 17, a gas Sabon Gari area of Kano State killing nine people, while others sustained injuries in the incident.

When the Public Relations Officer of Kano State Fire Service, was contacted, Saminu Yusuf, confirmed the incident. He said that the 20 affected people were rescued alive and taken to hospital for treatment.

The incident happened about 8:00pm on Thursday  after a cylinder exploded, which also lead to the destruction of some shops. It was gathered that the fire started when a fish seller was frying the fish near the gas refilling shop.
