Gunmen invade Ebonyi community kidnap woman leader

Gunmen invaded Ebonyi community and kidnapped the woman leader identified as Mrs Juliana Uzor, in the Isuokoma community of Onicha Local Government Area of the State.

Wakadaily gathered that the Traditional Ruler of the community, Eze Ambrose Ogbu, was equally kidnapped last week at his Palace, though the abductors have demanded N2 million ransom before he will be released.

According to reports, Mrs Juliana was kidnapped at her farmland over a week ago, just four days before the traditional ruler was kidnapped too. However,  no call has been received from the abductors yet.

One of the community leader said, “We are in shock because barely four days after her abduction the traditional ruler of the community was also picked and taken to an unknown destination. Her name is Mrs. Juliana Uzor, she was kidnapped at her farm near Onu Esu.

“She is from Uburu but married a Naval officer from Isu. Her husband died during her first pregnancy but she chose to stay with his family. She’s very active in community mobilization and a born leader. I’ve known her since 1979 in secondary school”.

Our effort to reach the police was abortive.
