The rate of kidnapping in Nigeria is out of control, as some unknown gunmen recently kidnapped two teenage sisters from the Guita community in Chikakore, Kubwa, Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

This come barely one week after residents of Chikakore village staged a protest outside the office of the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, citing one of the reasons the area has a high rate of kidnapping is because the main route connecting their community is bad.

Wakadaily learnt that the bandits stormed the community at about 11:25 pm on Sunday, despite the military and police presence in the vicinity.

The girls, who were said to be 16 and 14 years old, were abducted by six men who drove them through the forests in the area.

It was gathered that the kidnappers contacted their family and demanded N30 million ransom for their release.
