Gunmen kidnap Ondo traditional ruler, three others 

Some unknown gunmen have kidnapped a traditional ruler in Ikare Akoko, North-East Local Government Area of Ondo State, alongside three others on Thursday evening.

According to a source, the bandits ambushed the ruler and the other victims along Ago Panu area of Owo-Ikare Expressway, while travelling from Akure to Ikare.

Mr Mukaila Bello, who is the head of Iku Quarters in the ancient community, was kidnapped with Mr Adeniran Adeyemo, Mr Bashiru Adekile and Chief Gbafinro, while the driver managed to escape.

The source said, “The driver of the vehicle was stabbed by the gunmen, but we were able to rescue him alone and rushed him to the hospital, he is there receiving treatment now with wounds all over his body.

The kidnappers had yet to contact the victim’s families or demand a ransom as at the time of filling this report.
