Gunmen kidnap Plateau council chairman in Jos 

Some suspected gunmen reportedly kidnapped the Chairman of Kanke Local Government Council of Plateau State, Hon. Henry Gotip In his residence in Jos, on Wednesday morning.

A source in the community said that the gunmen stormed the residence at Kwang in Jos South Local Government Area of the state in the early hours of Wednesday and shot sporadically and later abducted the council boss to an unknown destination.

Wakadaily learnt that the gunmen who whisked Gotip away are yet to contact his family.

The Police Public Relations Officer PPRO, Plateau State Police Command, Alfred Alabo confirmed the incident and said the Police Command has directed his men to track the kidnappers and get the man released.

He said, “the Police Commissioner is on top of the situation as he has sent a team of police officers to the area who are working in collaboration with the vigilante to rescue the Council Chairman.”
