Award-winning singer and songwriter, David Adeleke popularly known as Davido, for the first time speaks on his marriage to his girlfriend, Chioma Rowland.
In an interview with skitmaker, Kiekie, the Afrobeat singer speaks on his his challenging times and his future plans.
Wakadaily reported that in November, the ‘Omo Baba Lowo’ crooner and Chioma secretly had their traditional wedding following the loss of their son, Ifeanyi Adeleke who drowned in a swimming pool at his father’s residence in Banana Island, Lagos State.
It was gathered that Chioma’s kinsmen had stopped the burial of Ifeanyi by the Adeleke family, claiming that the deceased was their son since Chioma was not legally married to Davido. A tradition practised in parts of Igbo Land. Chioma Rowland bride price was paid on November 4 before the deceased was buried on November 5, 2023.
Since the death of their son, Davido and Chioma had withdrawn from the spotlight and have been keeping a very low profile. However the singer returned to social media days back, and announced the release of his new album ‘Timeless’.
For the first time since he got married, Davido finally showed off his wedding ring, he told viewers that he got married during his break.
On his future plans, the singer said “Just being away, I have had a lot to think about, time to rest, reflect on a lot of family time, and definitely a time to make music again and remake the album.
“Before I went on break, I actually had an album ready. I travelled, it was cr@zy. I am married. A lot of different things but we’re ready to get back on the road, tour…..”.
When Kiekie asked if he missed his fans, lovers and well wishers. Davido said, “Definitely, I have never taken these kind of break”.
