Nollywood actor, Funsho Adeolu has questioned why it appears that actresses in the entertainment industry are doing better than their male colleagues.
The film director in an interview with Teju Babyface, mentioned that he changes higher money per movie than most Nollywood actresses, yet they ride most expensive cars than he does.
Adeolu noted that such actress can’t say they fund their lavish lifestyle from acting. He stated how most of these actresses only come on set so they can pretend that the industry is what funds their lifestyle.
The 55-year-old said: “I charge more money per movie than most Nollywood actresses but they ride bigger cars than I do. They can’t say they make all that money from acting movies to fund their lifestyle”.
“People that if I collect N200,000 in a job, they can’t collect N20,000, they are riding bigger cars than I am riding. What they do is come on set, show themselves on TV, so they have the opportunity to”.
Funsho Adeoti isn’t the only actor who has queried his female colleagues source of income.
Earlier, ‘Anikulapo’ start actor while appearing on the ‘Honest Bunch’ podcast, mentioned that there are sometimes he drives to a movie location and his female colleagues will pull up in more expensive cars.
Kunle Remi stated that he is surprised, because he knows how he gets paid and how much the actresses are paid for the same movie.
He said, “How come the girls seem to be doing better than the men? That is a very valid question.
“I get to set, I probably drive my normal moderate car then you see your co-actress pull up. Not just pull up o, PULL UP.
People around see it as though what are you doing differently? What are they doing differently?Ladies will tell you; ‘I’m selling hair. I’m doing this. I have multiple streams of income. Some people, they have it by mouth, we don’t know exactly what the conversation is.”
Joining force Angela Okorie urged her female colleagues to stope pretending that acting alone is behind their lavish lifestyle.
