Veteran rapper, Humanitarian and Human Rights Activist, Michael Ugochukwu Stephens, popularly known as Ruggedman reportedly lost his dad.
The rapper took to his Instagram page to announce the passing of his father at age 88.
Ruggedman posted a picture of candlelight with the caption, “I don’t even know how I feel or what to feel. RIP Dad.”
Speaking on the sudden death of his father, the icon rapper said: “Yes I lost my father yesterday. He was ill and before they could take him to the hospital he died. He was about 88 years old when he died. But we thank God for life.
“When it comes to missing him, I have been missing him but I do not want to talk about his death so much. He was separated from my mother so I did not spend so much time with him. He has gone, and he has gone.”
Ruggedman is a graduate of political science from Lagos state university, he ventured into music in 1999, as a rapper and had a very successful Career, but has been on and off the music scene.
The rapper was nominated for Headies humanitarian award in 2022, but lost to Davido, he however did not take the lost in good faith as he stated that Headies was just a popularity contest and Davido was undeserving of the award.
He is know for always speaking out on police brutality on citizens and helping people get a fair hearing on cases involving brutality.
In 2002, the rapper released a controversial diss track “Ehen” featuring Nomoreloss, the song was geared towards established act in the industry at the time, likes of Eedris Abdulkareem,Maintain, Black Reverendz and Rasqui for their lack of lyrics.
