Fast-rising street pop sensation, Shallipopi has revealed that he doesn’t write his songs and that they are mostly freestyles.
The Edo-born artist who is adding lots of excitement to street pop with his catchy lyrics and touch of his rich cultural attribute, has revealed that he finished his Ep in two hours, as most f the songs were freestyle.
Speaking in an interview with ‘Dotun of Cool FM’ Shallipopi revealed that he doesn’t write his songs and that his enter debut project was done as a freestyle.
He said, “I don’t write my music, I make them off my head. Even the one that looks written, I don’t write them,”
He also went further to talk on his newly released EP ‘Planet Pluto’ which dropped in July, 2023 was made within two hours.
“The EP is a freestyle and I did everything in like two hours.”
When asked why he doesn’t write his songs, the singer answered that writing songs makes it rigid and he doesn’t think music should be rigid.
He also stated that even though he doesn’t write his music he is very professional and takes music seriously.
Shallipopi was recently arrested by EFCC after the lunch of his debut EP and wakadaily reported recently that he was been sued for copyright infringement.
