Nigerian singer and songwriter, Eniola Akinbo, commonly known as Niyola says music happened as an accident for her, after losing loved ones.
She recounts how she started singing after losing the most important people in her life, her father, mother, and a very close friend.
Speaking in a chat with popular media personality Chude Jideonwo, Niyola said she never wanted to be a celebrity, it all just happened.
Niyola said, “I stumbled into music as a profession by accident. It was pain. It was a loss. It was gain.
“I lost very important people in my life- three. I lost my friend, a very good friend of mine. I lost my mum. And then I lost my dad.”
The former Banky W signee also spoke about leaving the record label, she said leaving the record label wasn’t the easiest thing to do, but it allowed her to start afresh.
Recently the singer was rumored to be in a romantic relationship with her ex Boss from the EME record label, BankyW, and was expecting a child for him.
The singer has not made any comments on this, instead, she released a new single titled “Olumoranti”.
