Basketmouth a popular actor/comedian and filmmaker recently shared his experience in the Nollywood industry as an actor during an interview.
He spoke about the power of having a good budget, while referencing some filmmakers who get funds for movies, and end up blowing away the money on personal needs, which shortens their budget and reduces the quality of their movies.
Talking about budgeting for movies, Basketmouth said that he once had to raise the sum of 300 million Naira for a movie project in twenty-four hours, and he was able to do it.
He also spoke about working with young people, and he stated that the older generation of filmmakers have a lot to learn from the young ones, and that the older filmmakers shouldn’t have it in mind that they are doing a favor to the younger ones simply because they’re working with them.
The talented comedian also threw a jab at his colleagues in the comedy industry, who solicit for funds on stage, noting that it is dishonorable, and they should instead focus on giving a good performance.
Basketmouth has had quite an impressive career, and from comedy, he gradually interested himself into the movie industry by producing and starring in his on shows.
The publicity of his recent movie created a bit of an unrest on social media, when netizens mistook promotional photos for a wedding announcement with his co-star.
A lot of comments bordered on the fact that she was his co-star, and some even went as far as dragging her and calling her a home wrecker that influenced his divorce.
Basketmouth allowed the rumors to simmer for a while before he cleared the air, and he was hailed for having a superb social media strategy.
