’I lost my parents in a fire accident as a child’ Toke Makinwa reveals

Popular Nigeria media personality Toke Makinwa has revealed that she lost her parents when she was young to a fire accident.

Toke disclosed that the fire incident has remained her biggest fear up till date.

She made this known recently on her podcast while hosting comedian Ayo Maku popularly known as AY, whose house was recently was burnt down in a fire incident.

While asking the comedian about a recent fire incident at his Lagos residence, she shared her similar experience many years ago.

“I’ve been a victim of a house fire when I was a kid and unfortunately both my parents died as a result of that. That’s one of my biggest fears”, she said.

AY responded by consoling her as he revealed it was the first time he was hearing about that.

“Sorry about that. I’m just hearing this for the first time.”

Speaking on the fire incident of his house AY said,

“I woke up to about 78 missed calls on the day of the incident. And I opened my phone and saw my house on Instablog.

“The fact that my family was on holiday, was my point of Thanksgiving.”
Recall that AY Lekki mansion was gutted by fire few months back.
He had showered praises on his wife for standing by him through it all.
