Yoruba actress, Aisha Lawal has narrated her near death experience after she narrowly escaped the Ibadan explosion on Tuesday January 17.
Wakadaily reported how residents were thrown in panic following the explosion that occurred at Adeyi Avenue, Bodija, Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State.
No fewer than 10 persons were feared killed, and 77 others sustained injuries following the explosion that also affected a section of the Governor’s Office, Secretariat, Oyo State House of Assembly, the residence of the former Attorney General.
The state governor, Seyi Makinde noted that preliminary investigation by agencies revealed that explosive devices stored by illegal miners caused the explosion that rocked the area.
Recounting her Near-death experience, the Nollywood actress said she was in Bodija at the time of the explosion, adding that she had parked her car to buy suya opposite the estate but later moved it to another location just before the incident happened.
She said: “Alhamdulilah for today, I was at Bodija when the explosion happened, in fact, my ears are still ringing from the effect. Thank God for our lives.
“I even parked to buy suya opposite that Estate o! Now later moved my car from Sloggers Club to the Metro hotel on the same Osuntokun when it happened. Olohun anu oooooooo
“Too many dead bodies, ehhhhhh what exactly is going on ooo. Olohun sanu oooo.”
