ICSAN to examine AI impact on capital market operations

Following the introduction of AI to Business and Finance, the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria has decided to adopt Artificial Intelligence and Cyber Security on capital market operations at its ongoing 2024 company Secretaries and Registrars’ Forum.

It was revealed at the press briefing organized at the ICSAN National Secretariat in Lagos.

The ICSAN Company Secretaries and Registrars’ Forum serves as a platform to teach participants about contemporary practices and pertinent governance issues trending in the profession.

The 2024 forum that will held in April, titled ‘The Implications of Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity for Capital Market Operations’.

Funmi Ekundayo, the President and Chairman of the Governing Council of ICSAN, who spoke for Abiola Laseinde, the Chairman of the ICSAN Corporate Members Committee, noted that the organisation’s objective was to come up with a trending topic and provide guidance on the emerging issue.

She said, “Each year, our goal is to identify a current, popular issue, specifically a challenge, and explore ways we can provide support in overcoming it and progressing forward.

The importance of selecting this year’s topic lies in addressing challenges related to utilising digital technology, such as utilising digital tools to transform our work processes and mindset to achieve favourable results.”

From the news gathered, the Registrar and Chief Executive of the Institute expressed  commitment to the continuous learning and professional development of its members.
