ID Cabasa, a famous music producer and record label owner from Nigeria, has unveiled a new version of the popular Nigerian song ‘Olufunmi’.
This remake includes the talented artists Joeboy, Fireboy, Boj, and Odumodublvck.
‘Olufunmi Reimagined’ honors the original everlasting essence while incorporating captivating modern Afrobeat sounds.
ID Cabasa, a trailblazer in Afrobeats, skillfully combines the sentimental tunes of Styl-Plus with current beats and inventive production, establishing a connection between different generations.
The song was released on May 24, 2024, and features a new production by ID Cabasa, with verses from Fireboy, rapper Odumodublvck, Boj, and Joeboy.
The reimagined version keeps the original chorus from the 2006 hit single on Styl Plus’ highly acclaimed debut album ‘Expressions’.
The single also includes a music video directed by renowned Nigerian cinematographer Clarence Peters.
The video takes inspiration from the original, with Fireboy, Joeboy, Boj, and Odumodublvck all competing for the affection of the same woman, who ultimately chooses ID Cabasa.
‘Olufunmi Reimagined’ is the latest reimagined song released by ID Cabasa, following his previous remake of 9ice’s ‘Photocopy’ featuring rapper Vector.
In a recent interview with the Afrobeats Podcast hosted by Adesope, ID Cabasa revealed his plans to release a new album in 2024.
The album will showcase a talented lineup of artists collaborating with him to recreate iconic Nigerian songs.
