INEC choose Bashir Machina over Ahmad Lawan

The Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC), has in a certified true report, Bashir Machina won the All Progressives Congress primary for the Yobe North Senatorial District.

When Machina name was not found in the list of candidates sent to INEC, he said, “I am the elected candidate; I did not withdraw for anybody and will not withdraw because as a matter of right that is the mandate given to me by members of our great party, the delegates. So surreptitiously removing my name, I consider, is very undemocratic, illegal and of course human.”

Machina scored 289 votes out of the 300 votes cast by the delegates. The document certified by the electoral office on June 23, 2022, did not mention Ahmad Lawan, the Senate President who has been pushing to return to the Senate on the APC ticket 2023.

Ahmad Lawan picked the presidency form and the senatorial form unfortunately, he lost the two.
