One year after losing her son, popular Irish singer Sinéad O’Connor pass away.
This was made known by the singers family, in a statement released in local media, Irish Times report on Wednesday.
“It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Sinéad. Her family and friends are devastated and have requested privacy at this very difficult time,” the statement reads.
The singer rose to fame after release of her ‘Nothing Compares 2 U’ single which was written by famous star prince which topped many charts on it release, and made it up to billboard’s number one single in 1990.
Sinéad revealed in an interview with Oprah Winfrey that she had a troubled childhood and a controversial career.
And she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and battled with suicidal thoughts.
In 1992 the singer sparked outrage by tearing a photo of Pope John Paul II on a Saturday night show to protect against sexual abuse in the Catholic Church.
She is survived by three children, Jake Reynolds, Brigidine Roisin Waters, and Francis Neil Bonadio.
