Few days ago, while celebrating Mohbad’s mother as she marks her 50th birthday, Iyabo stated that she had stepped down from Mohbad’s case. Though she didn’t state reasons, she confessed that it pains her that the late singer couldn’t get his deserved justice.
Her announcement to step down came as a disbelief as she had vowed to him, stating that no matter how hard people try, or the lapses/huddles that blocks their way, she and other people who cares will never give up.
Lately, Iyabo Ojo had called on the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and security agencies over the safety of the mother of Mohbad’s mother, Mrs Abosede.
According to Iyabo, Mohbad’s mother has been bound to harassment, stalking, and bullying, which should not be accepted, especially for someone still grieving over her son.
Stating further, she noted that every Nigerian is supposed to feel safe in the comfort of their homes, but in the case of mohbad’s mother, it has not being the same.
Retracing back to memory, Mohbad, a former signee of Naira Marley’s record label, lost his life at 27 under unknown circumstances on September 12.
After his death, Iyabo Ojo was at the top front of those cheering for the late singer to get justice. Her solidarity for him brought about several criticisms and reacting to it, Iyabo boldly stated that she would continue to speak her truth no matter the misconceptions they draw about her and the hate she receives. She stated that it would be better she dies fearlessly and bold, and a courageous woman who stand’s & fights for the truth for Nigeria to be great.
