The United Kingdom’s longest-serving monarch, Queen Elizabeth II has died at the age of 96, crowd gathered at the Buckingham Palace residence after concerns grew about her health on Thursday.
Wakadaily earlier reported that the queen’s doctors were “concerned” over her health. He said “Following further evaluation this morning, the Queen’s doctors are concerned for Her Majesty’s health and have recommended she remain under medical supervision. The Queen remains comfortable and at Balmoral.”
But later on Thursday evening, Buckingham Palace confirmed in a statement that the queen died peacefully.
The statement read, “The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon. The King and the Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow.”
The Queen was born Elizabeth Alexandra Mary Windsor, in Mayfair, London, on 21 April 1926, she became queen on February 6, 1952, and was crowned on June 2, 1953.
