Guinness World Record holder, Kafayat Shafau aka Kaffydance, shares her thoughts on the institution of marriage saying, people need mental evaluation before marriage.
In a recent interview with media personnel Chude Jideonwo, kaffy stated that mental health evaluation,couples therapy and drug tests should be a mandatory requirement for People aspiring to get married.
Kaffy likewise stated that the reason for many failed unions now is that it is easier to get a marriage certificate than to get a driver’s license.
She said, “It is harder to get a driver’s license yet it is inside all these homes that all of society is being built in. There needs to be a full-year program on human behavioural sciences. It’s a special course that needs to be taken.”
“We can’t live in a society that issues you marriage certificates easier than driver’s licenses.
Speaking on her failed marriage to Joseph Ameh, the dancer said her marriage failed due to a lack of adequate education from her parents, noting that it is not enough to view marriage form how your parent’s eyes alone, but to get educated on the matter yourself beforehand.
“I was not educated enough for marriage and a lot of us aren’t. Our parents didn’t prepare us enough for marriage It’s now so easy to get into marriage that’s why it keeps crashing”, she disclosed.
Kaffy had opened up about her marriage crashing in 2022, And stated that she was happy her marriage failed for many reasons.
“My marriage failed for so many reasons and I am grateful that it failed because I am blind but now I see”.
